Jenny & DANIEL
Rick Shores, Gold Coast
A MODERN BEACH WEDDING FOR THE ULTIMATE ETHEREAL ROMANTICS
There’s something undeniably special about a beach wedding. Particularly one that involves a pop-up gelateria, a chartered yacht, and a decadent reception at Burleigh’s exclusive Rick Shores restaurant. This was just part of the blueprint for Jen and Dan’s modern, elegant, and luxurious oceanside nuptials, which we were engaged to plan, style and coordinate.
With all elements curated to reflect ethereal romance, it was a truly beautiful day (and night!), complete with the quintessential Gold Coast endless blue skies. The ceremony was held on the beach in Main Beach and styled to complement the soft tones and effortless beauty of the surrounds. To set the tone, guests were greeted by a contemporary yet timeless bespoke welcome sign, which doubled as a textural keepsake for Jen and Dan. We also brought in the adorable Wheel & Spoon gelati cart, which was not only a palette-pleasing addition, but also presented the perfect photo opportunity. As Jen and Dan are originally from the UK and most of their guests had travelled from afar, they wanted something sweet, refreshing, and cool (literally and by default, figuratively!) for everyone to enjoy before the ceremony.
Flowers played an integral role in creating the ethereal look and feel, with predominantly white and blush hues offset by pops of dark textural elements. Enlisting the expert eye of talented floral stylist Posy Lane, classic heavy flexed roses were blended with long phalaenopsis orchids, the symbol of luxury longevity, and beauty. To create a seamless flow between setting and styling, Jen had her heart set on a circular arbour dressed in a dense overlay of flowers which was sourced and styled to suit. Matching blooms in on-trend white urns and romantic aisle flowers were added, creating an enchanting space amongst the trees. This was carefully orchestrated so it did not to detract from the breathtaking ocean views, or the heart of this dreamy wedding; the bride and groom.
We then escorted the guests to Marina Mirage where they boarded the luxe YOT 75 for three hours of drinks and nibbles cruising the glassy Broadwater. Once docked, they were transported by plush stretch Chryslers to the iconic seaside Rick Shores restaurant for the wedding reception. For continuity and to ensure the theme flowed effortlessly from ceremony to reception, the circular arbour and urns were repurposed behind Hello Little Crumb’s stunning three tier cake. The aisle arrangements were placed on the bench at the restaurant’s entrance, pairing perfectly with the mesmerising cherry blossom tree we had installed at the entry door.
Inside we used the venue’s supplied round table and chairs and dressed them with regal floor length tablecloths and textural styling fabric to give an organic feel to the setting. Continuing with luxe and textural elements, we set the table with natural plateware, gold cutlery tied off in a natural textural napkin, brass candlesticks, and layered travertine table numbers in roman numerals. We finished these with personalised gold rimmed agate coasters for guests to take home as a bespoke memento.
From beginning to end, every detail of this heartfelt affair was designed to embody Jen and Dan’s special connection and unique love story. It was an absolute pleasure to work with these soul mates to transform their vision into a highly personalised and graceful celebration of love, enduring romance, and high-end contemporary elegance.
